Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

What is Equine Therapy?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a form of therapy that involves an experiential approach to psychology and supports clients of all ages. It encompasses a range of treatments in the presence of horses. The focus of equine psychotherapy is to support therapeutic change and personal growth/development for individual clients. The horses act as a resource to support individuals to create change.

Why use horses?

Horses model awareness, safety and survival. They provide unique feedback to how people behave around them. Horses are also sensitive to peoples behaviour and emotions and respond differently to what people are experiencing.

Meet Our Therapy Horses

  • Sam

Sam is the biggest of the herd and is a quarter horse cross. He is a bold and cheeky boy who loves to be groomed. Sam is still young, so is still learning and he is always one to come up to you in the paddock.

  • Digger

Digger is a retired race horse who is starting his new career as a competition and therapy horse. Digger is 10 years old and is very affectionate and enjoys being around people.

  • Buck

Buck is one of our mini horses and comes all the way from America. He is 20 years old and loves a pat. Although he is very small he has a big personality.

  • Willow

Willow is a mini horse and is our youngest at only 3 years old. She has a very sweet personality and loves to greet you in the paddock. Willow is happy to follow you around for cuddles.
